C O N S T R U C T I O N
I realize now that this poor, neglected area of my psyche has been a non-entity now for over a year.
It pains me greatly that of the small percentage of the world that are interested in anything Groovespooky I have been so lapse.
My basement studio project began after "The Great March Flood of 2007". The flood that dropped
2 inches of water throughout the basement and, as I was away on business, my angelic wife and dear dear neighbor
helped keep at 2 inches when all around us basements where getting 2-5 feet of water!!!
This necessitated the complete emptying of said basement and the purchase of French drains to
quell all watery nastiness for (we hope) all eternity.
Now, given the basement was completely devoid of all of our stored paraphernalia and my workshop
(which was all placed haphazardly in the dining room and has remained there ever since), found me...
Me. A short time ago.
...looking at a huge empty space that was screaming to me " YO YO YO! make me into a semi-sound proof studio with insanely-cool
remote-controlled dimmable recessed lighting, a new staircase, walls, a ceiling, insulation, outlets replete with a surge protected and
power conditioned 20 amp circuit, a rope lit whisky cabinet and a CD alcove with an ensconced 2 disc CD player
built into the wall for DJing" I heard it scream that, honestly.
This may or may not answer the question: "What has his Groovespookness been doing all this time?"
And
yes, ashamed though I am to admit it, this has SO FAR taken over a year. I am finally at the sanding, priming,
painting, finishing stages as of February 2008 and hope to move things back in
in late March or early April.
